Computer CORE offers free, online, basic computer skills classes to adults 18 and over. Adult learners should be residents of Virginia, DC or Maryland.
In addition to the residency and age requirements, all our students should be committed to attending scheduled online classes.
*We have one class in Spanish, and all other classes are taught in English so students should understand spoken English.
The schedule below is a sample only – to provide information on our usual line-up of class offerings.

After you complete the Interest Form, you will receive more information on Computer CORE via email.
You can only sign up for classes through an email that will be sent to you by us before the beginning of each term. Based on your orientation and your scores on a Northstar Digital Literacy assessment, we determine your level and invite you to classes for which we feel you are ready.
Digital Navigators
We provide in-person, one-on-one help with your questions about technology. Our Digital Navigators are excited and available in various locations around the DC Metro Area. To learn about locations, free resources, and more about Digital Navigators, click the buttons on the left.

COREfundamentals
COREfundamentals provides foundational instruction in essential digital skills such as email, file management, internet safety, typing, and English writing and conversation, building the confidence required for daily life and continued learning.

COREbuild
COREbuild prepares learners to apply digital skills in educational and workplace settings through training in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, digital marketing, AI, and college math refresher courses.

COREexplore
COREexplore allows students to branch out into additional learning areas such as Digital Self Defense, Python coding, advanced AI, and Excel Level 2.

COREcelerate
COREcelerate Study Groups are Computer CORE’s most advanced offering, providing intensive mentoring and peer support for students pursuing industry certifications. Participants must have completed CORE classes, passed Northstar Assessments, and be prepared for guided self-study and professional expectations. Study Groups meet Monday–Thursday, 6-7 PM during each term. COREcelerate enourages guided self-study towards certification from Microsoft, Google, CompTIA or Amazon.
