COVID-19
Computer CORE's coronavirus response and information.
The safety and well-being of our students and volunteers are at the forefront of our priorities as an educational institution. Therefore after March 13, all in-person Computer CORE classes, workshops, and tutoring have been suspended and are continuing online until further notice.
Classes Have Moved Online
- Volunteer instructors responded in creative ways to provide distance learning to our students via Zoom, Teams, and Google Meet
- The CORE Flagship Program currently operates 25 online classes for 300+ students encompassing multiple iterations of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint, Google Workspace, and career skill coaching – as well as advanced electives including basic coding, IT security, QuickBooks, and NVCC math placement
- Getting computers into the hands of students without technology at home is a critical component for students to continue their education. Thanks to CORE’s dedicated volunteer refurbishers, over 300 computers and laptops have been distributed to students with masks and social distancing precautions in place, so they can attend classes virtually.
